As a family considering retiring in the Research Triangle area, this was one way we could take a look at the area until we're physically able to spend some time there. This book was very helpful in that regard.

I came to visit a friend who is new to the area and we relied on this book the whole time I was there. We found the food section especially informative, and the historical tidbits on the towns and sights were cool. I would definitely recommend it to newcomers.
I had an old version of this book that was 3 times the size and contained much more info about the various areas of these towns near where I live. This new version had so little of that useful info that I returned it for a refund instead of giving it to a friend that just moved to the area.
I bought this book for my son and daughter-in-law who recently moved to the Triangle area. They love to explore new places and this book fits the bill.
