The map has a 2017 copyright date, but is inaccurate. The Namsan Botanical Garden is in the wrong location in Namsan Park and embassies are shown where it really is located. Same thing for the National Hangeul Museum (a fascinating museum on the history of written Korean) -- its location on the map is in the middle of an apartment building. In fact, it's on the east side of the Yongsan Family Park. It shows the Yongsan Market over a rail yard that was vacated and ripped up a number of years ago. I'm guessing the map, if it was ever accurate, is based on data from at least six or seven years ago. So much for the 2017 copyright.I'm sure there are other mistakes (roads seem to be off). I'll be leaving my copy in a trash can.
Overall, this is a fairly good map. There are few choices for South Korea. One problem is that it is already out of date because of the pace of road building. This one is as good as any English map as of the date of this review.If you are renting a car, be sure to get a GPS. Because of the addressing system, navigation without a GPS can be difficult. Everyone uses them - both visitors and natives. The nation's largest car rental agency (Kumho) has them in both English and Korean. Kumho is the local licensee of Hertz, but Hertz told me there were no English GPS's. Imagine my delight and surprise when our car was brought out with an English GPS! It made all the difference in our visit.
I bought this to use on a trip to the Seoul metro area. I never did use it for driving purposes, but I did find it helpful in familiarizing myself with the lay of the land. It also has some nice scenic and tourist sites listed on the map. I will keep it as a souvenir of my trip. Very nice map.
This is a sturdy, well-designed map but it is very limited in what it shows. Unless you are staying right in the center of Seoul you won't find it helpful.
This is one of the very few available. We used it during our spring trip to Korea and found it very useful.
I bought as a gift for my boss who moved there to teach english, and she loved it! She plans on traveling on her off days, and this gave her details of where to go!
