This journey, lasting several weeks, is how these two people from enemy lands begin their story- and what a terrific story it is!The plot was enthralling and I couldn't put it down. It was filled with peril, romance, conflict, and even humor. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and also its colorful peripheral characters. "The Wolfe" has always been my favorite book. It is 909-pages, jammed packed with action, characters that you can't help fall in love with, a sweet, wonderful romance and William de Wolfe. I have read "The Wolfe" five times. I never tire of it. It never gets old. I am merely visiting with friends that I miss. And, it never fails to put a smile on my face. It is that kind of book.After my first reading of "The Wolfe," I had to see if this was just a fluke and if the author, Kathryn Le Veque, was really that good. I went through all the books the author had written in record time. Yep. She was really THAT good! During my reading journey, I came to learn about all the houses and families that made up Le Veque World. So many books have generations that spring from early books, with names that have become so familiar. Each and every book was a joy to read. All of the characters, with heroes, the heroines, the supporting characters, quickly became familiar friends. I, quite simply, devoured them. I have read all of the books many times now. However, I always wanted to read about the origins of all those great houses in Le Veque World: De Wolfe, de Russe, de Lohr, Wellsbourne, de Lara, de Moray, de Reyne, de Winter, St. Hever and du Reims. And, just how did the de Shera brothers (The Lords of Thunder) have Roman ancestors and how did that figure into the big picture? This book has all the answers. And, those answers were beyond satisfying. They were spectacular!I'm not going to do another synopsis of the book as it has already been done by those reviewers before me. I am simply going to say this. Warwolfe is must reading for any fan of Kathryn Le Veque. Warwolfe is must reading for anyone who loves a medieval romance for the ages. Warwolfe is must reading for anyone who loves adventure, mystery and history. Warwolfe is must reading for anyone who enjoys reading about loyalty and honor when it really meant something.
