I read this aloud to a group of campers in ancient Greek camp ages 5-10. They didn't want me to stop. Over 5 days,I read the whole book. Later, they asked me to read the "jerk" book again. It's hilarious and written without expalnations and details that can drag down a read-a-loud. I bought several Greek themed books on Amazon. This one was the winner.
It was great bedtime reading... but too short !!! I highly recommend it. A nice twist on stories my son and I have read in other books. Fun, not so serious.
I ordered this book to use with my 2-5 th graders for a writing assignment.I opened to the first page and read the words “ he was a jerk “ written in two separate sentences . I immediately flipped through the rest of the book and saw that the phrase was written multiple times throughout . I’m all for putting a humorous spin on the “ old†, but the language was totally inappropriate . It now is a book that will sit on the self , as I can not use this book for class with the language.
Interesting attempt at trying to put some humor into Greek mythology but it has already been done with the Percy Jackson series (which can be annoying it its own right). Too much use of the term 'jerk' as well.
It's an interesting book that helps us, parents, to introduce kids to the world of Western Mythology. This book introduces the origins of the gods, they fightings, powers, and relationships with humanity. Yes it uses humor, because it's a kid's book, and It uses the word Jerk a lot to explain the character/qualities of several gods

I liked this book. For young children it is nice. It is nice and simple, it tells Greek mythology in a good way. If you are a 4-8 kid, and you like mythology you'll love this book!
I’ve read another book like this before but, this was way way more kid friendly. I recommend it to kids everywhere.
